Marcus Paige Sophmore Guard 6'1" 175 Marion, Iowa

Recaping his Freshman season:

Named to the ACC's All-Academic team and both the coaches' and media All-Freshman teams • Named to the Kyle Macy Freshman All-America team • Averaged 8.2 points and 4.6 assists • Fourth leading UNC scorer • Started 34 games at the point • Had 161 assists and 86 turnovers • Third in the ACC in assists per game and sixth in assist-error ratio and steals • More assists than turnovers in 25 games, including 16 of the last 20

What to expect from him this season:

Paige will continue his growth and development both offensively and defensively at the point guard position.

He will be the team leader in late game situations and will continue to put the team on his back and come up with key scores in key moments as evidenced last year.

Paige will continue to shoot a very high percentage behind the arc, cementing his place as one of the team's best shooters behind Hairston and McDonald.

He may prove to be the best defensive guard on the entire team this year.

Recaping his Junior Season:

Returning from ACL injury, Sixth on the team in scoring at 7.2 points per game • Shot 35.9 percent from three-point range (42 of 117) • Made a three-pointer in 19 of the 30 games in which he played • Scored in double figures seven times • Was 29 for 97 from the floor in his last 16 games

What to expect from him this season:

Be a more consistent scorer and 3-point shooter in big games down the stretch of the season.

He will continue to be one of the teams best free-throw shooters, if not, the best.

Expect Mcdonald to be a streaky

UNC Men's Basketball: Brice Johnson Preseason Update

Brice Johnson - Sophomore Forward 6'9" 210 Orangeburg, SC

Recaping his Freshman Season:

Played in all 36 games • One of four players to appear in all 36 games • Averaged 5.4 points • Was the fourth leading rebounder on the team with 3.2 per game • Scored in double figures nine times, but not in the last 21 games

What I look for this season:
Hopefully he will continue to show his knack for scoring the basketball and he will put up more double-figure games this season.

Hopefully he has beefed up a little in the off-season so he can hang down low in the post against some of the bigger opponents in the ACC.

Creative One Pager Assignment... Topic--- Addicted to Surf

            Addicted to Surf

Plug in and tune out
For our generation that’s what it’s all about.
Riding the bus or walking to class
Internet on our phones helps the time to pass.

To pot and crack we are taught to say no
So off to the pleasures of the World Wide Web we go.
Who needs sleep or face-to-face conversation
When the online world is the perfect medication.

Facebook and Twitter always nearby
So much so that without them we might die.
For chatting with girls or finding boys
The online world is quite the addicting toy.

So much information at the click of a mouse
Sometimes we just don’t want to leave the house.
Locked up in our rooms with our face in a screen
The Internet has changed the world so it seems.

Neglecting relationships and important things in life
Surfing the internet becomes our real wife.
Absorbing all of our energies and using up our time
It makes me wonder how long we’ll be fine.

Braves Season Ends in L.A. Heartbreak

The Atlanta Braves failed to get the job done in October once again. The Braves haven't won a postseason series since 2001. This time around the Braves were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. Juan Uribe hit a go-ahead two-run blast in the bottom of the 8th inning that put the Dodgers up 4 to 3 and propelled them to a berth in the NLCS with a 3-1 series victory over the Braves. Meanwhile, for Braves fans the heartbreak continues. This season was just another example of the franchises tendency to flop in October when it all matters most. The Braves won 96 games in the regular season and captured the N.L. East title. But in the end, the 2013 season will be remembered for what could have been.
